Open up the gates – Cuyutlan
After being on the road for 2 months, we finally arrived at our house that we have rented for the next 6 months. In the small Mexican village of Cuyutlan (lots more to come on this place I’m sure!), we found a super 4-bedroom, 3 bath beach-house for rent…and well within our budget.
Despite verifying on google-earth that the house did indeed exist, dealing with a local realtor with a good reputation, and having a rental contract, I was still – just a tiny, teeny bit – anxious that we would arrive and discover the whole rental was a scam (we had already advanced the security deposit and 1st months rent). Nope it was all good!
We picked up the key and drove down the long beach road (4km) from the village to our home. Finally finding it (the only blue house on the left!), it was very exciting to pull into the driveway.
Everything is perfect. Ocean waves crash just in front of the house about 100 feet from the front door and are visible from every window/balcony. The sound is a constant back-drop. There is a little pool in the back yard (and I think the kids were in the pool 30 seconds after picking out their bedrooms) and a beautiful palapa with hammocks just beside. The house is comfortable and easy to live in.
A few pictures of our first couple of days here!
